Wie RING den Lagerdruck durch flexible Multi-SKU-Faltschachtelversorgung reduzierte

Wie RING den Lagerdruck durch flexible Multi-SKU-Faltschachtelversorgung reduzierte

UK automotive brand RING needed a packaging model that could support more than 200 product lines without forcing large quantities of every SKU into its own warehouse. PackCCP combined planned folding carton inventory, flexible batch releases, and pre-shipment inspection to balance unit cost, stock pressure, and print consistency over a long-term supply relationship.

00 Projektübersicht

RING had already built a broad automotive accessory range, but managing packaging for more than 200 SKUs created a different problem: ordering every carton in large quantities would increase UK inventory pressure, while producing each SKU only in small batches would raise unit costs. After several months of trial orders, PackCCP and RING developed a supply model that combined economical production quantities with flexible stock release and repeat quality control.

01 Die Herausforderungen

200+ SKUs—Uneven Packaging Demand

RING product range exceeded 200 items. The company often needed many carton designs at the same time, but the required quantity for each individual SKU could be relatively small.

UK Storage Costs Limited Bulk Buying

Producing larger quantities usually lowers folding carton unit cost, but receiving all of that stock at once would increase the client’s warehousing burden in the UK.

Print Quality Had to Stay Consistent Over Time

With the same brand appearing across many automotive products and repeat production batches, pricing flexibility could not come at the expense of stable printing and retail presentation.

02 Unsere Lösungen

The answer was not simply to produce less. We separated economical production quantity from the quantity the client needed to receive at one time.

Producing Economically—— Releasing Flexibly

PackCCP agreed to manufacture practical quantities of selected folding cartons and hold part of the finished stock in our own warehouse. RING could then release cartons according to actual demand instead of receiving every produced unit immediately, helping reduce pressure on its UK storage space.

Linking Inventory to Artwork Control

Because stored cartons represented committed inventory, both sides agreed that existing stock would be cleared before major design changes were introduced. This created a workable balance between packaging flexibility and the cost risk associated with obsolete printed cartons.

Inspecting Stock Again Before Every Shipment

Stored packaging was not treated as automatically ready to ship. Before each release, PackCCP carried out another inspection of the cartons being dispatched. This added a second control point for long-term inventory and helped maintain stable print and packaging quality across repeat shipments.

03 Wie wir das Projekt durchgeführt haben

Bühne

Was wir getan haben

Warum es wichtig war

Earn the First SKUs

Was

RING initially placed only several carton styles with PackCCP and evaluated the cooperation through several months of orders.

Warum

Allowed the client to test price, responsiveness, and quality before expanding supplier responsibility.

Plan Shared Inventory

Was

Produced selected folding carton SKUs at quantities that supported better manufacturing economics and stored part of the inventory at PackCCP.

Warum

Reduced the need for RING to hold all packaging stock in its own UK warehouse.

Release by Demand

Was

Shipped only the quantities required for each release while the remaining approved stock stayed in storage until needed.

Warum

Gave the client more flexibility across a large portfolio of products with different consumption rates.

Recheck Before Dispatch

Was

Inspected stored cartons again before each shipment and coordinated artwork changes only after existing inventory was cleared.

Warum

Protected print consistency while reducing the risk of obsolete stock and repeat-order issues.
